For several years, the Castel Family Estates have been promoting agroecology and sustainable practices to preserve soil vitality. The goal is to establish a microcosm, a healthy ecosystem supporting macrofauna, microfauna, and the rhizosphere, essential elements for the health of the vineyards.

Within the entirety of the family properties, cover crops, consisting of legumes, grasses, or crucifers, are sown between the vine rows according to specific needs. These plantings aim to achieve various objectives such as atmospheric nitrogen fixation, soil restitution, increased organic matter, soil structuring, load-bearing support, and erosion control.
