Château Montlabert (Grand Cru Classé de Saint-Emilion)
93-94 - James Suckling
“Beautiful texture with silky tannins, rounded and smooth. Medium- to full-bodied. Shows both power and delicacy. Attractive and long. Beautiful fruit. Crushed stone. Serene.”
94 - Jane Anson
“Grabs you straight off the bat, has a ton of character and intertest, dark cherry and cassis fruits, cold ash, campfire, minealty, salinity, bitter almond, but I like that you feel this takes the foot off the pedal, intense but has real mint freshness, this is a clear high sliver good quality. cooling purity vivid. 50% new oak.”
Château Ferrande blanc (AOC Graves)
90-92 - The Wine Advocate
“A blend of 45% Sémillon, 21% Sauvignon Blanc and 34% Sauvignon Gris, the 2022 Ferrande Blanc is super expressive with aromas of pear, peach, spring flowers and orchard fruits. Medium to full-bodied, tense and fleshy with a salty-yet-spicy mid-palate, the finish is long, penetrating and fresh. It is matured for 15% in new barrels, the rest in tanks.”
90-91 - James Suckling
“Lemons and sliced apples with zest and mineral undertones. Fresh and clean with medium body and a flavorful finish.”
92 - Yves Beck
91-92 - James Suckling
“This is fresh and vibrant with dark and blue fruit, crushed stones and violets. Medium-bodied. Tannins are firm and polished with vivid acidity framing it up. Creamy finish.”
93 - Jane Anson
“Velvety tannins and a kick of brushed damson and cherry chocolate on the nose, a pretty glamorous Graves that could definitely be mistaken for a Pessac-Léognan. Impressive on the palate also, juicy acidities that keep the fruit elevated, ripe fruits with balance. This is a delicious unfussy wine, and no doubt good value also. 30% new oak.”
93 - Decanter
Château d’Arcins (Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois)
91-92 - Yves Beck
90 - Decanter
